Sheltering Your Kids

Witty answers for those nagging questions.

By Beverly Hernandez, About.com

Don't you think you have sheltered your kids enough?

"How about a bubbly 'Oh absolutely not, I bought the big megaroll of bubble wrap at Mailboxes Etc this afternoon and I am busy making them all suits out of the stuff!'" - MOOOM2

Nice: "It is impossible to shelter even a homeschooled child from the realities of life; we prefer to teach and train our children to face problems head on while still keeping their integrity and holding fast to their moral values. I'm sure the local PS trains children similarly." (try to keep a straight face) - Mrs. D.

Sassy: "Well, we stopped feeding them weeks ago, but CPS says shelter is a must until they are of age." - Mrs. D.

"I thought I'd shelter my kids while they were still children." - SISTERBLUERO

"I love my kids enough to shelter them from what they can't yet handle, expose them to what they can handle, and prepare them for the real world in a way they can handle." - NETTIEZOOM

"Gads yes! You want to adopt them? They're available for 60 bucks apiece. Only thing is you have to pay for shots and get them fixed. Oh, and they are pretty much housebroken, but they're not leash trained. I'll bet the public schools will help you there." - EPHIELEMMONS

"A-He's only 5, don't you think I should? B-I do realize that I have to let them out of the bunker sometime. C-That's the job God gave them to me to do." - JAZZYMAM1

"Well, no, I don't think he's sheltered enough. Why, this afternoon, we are going to get him fitted for a tent he can wear day and night." - SHYACO
